Leaving Panama City in the morning, we’ll travel on a roadway parallel to the route used to transit  Panama during the time of the Spanish Conquest, where precious metals from the Pacific-side of Mexico and South America were transported across the Isthmus prior to being boarded on galleons and taken across the Atlantic to Spain.
